Here is what we learned on December 20, 2009:

safari_logo_3God’s gift to us was the baby Jesus.  Today we learned about the shepherds in the field.  They had a “heavenly” visitor one night.  An angel came to tell them that something very exciting and very special had happened.  A baby was born!  This was not any baby!  This was a special one!  The baby Jesus was born as a gift for us.

stand_logo_4Today we had a lesson from the Grinch!  We learned that Christmas is more than dinner and decorations. Dinners can get burned and decorations ruined but our Christmas can’t.  Its all about Jesus!  Perhaps Jesus was born in a stable because God wanted us to see that it wasn’t about the decorations or about the accommodations.  Its about Jesus and Jesus alone!! In the movie The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, the Grinch stole all of the dinners and trees and lights.   If Christmas was about that, the Grinch would have succeeded in ruining the Christmas.  We know Jesus and because of that, no one can ever steal Christmas from us!

Here is what we learned on December 13, 2009:

safari_logo_3Happy Birthday, Jesus!  Today we learned of a very special birthday, the reason we celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus.   God loves us and He showed His love for us by giving us the best gift of all, Jesus.

stand_logo_4What can we learn from the Grinch?  A lot!  Today we learned that Christmas is more than gifts and giving.  We learned that gifts were given on the very first Christmas day.  Getting and giving gifts make the holiday fun but Christ is the reason for the season.

Here is what we learned December 6, 2009:

safari_logo_3 Today we learned of a special gift.  A special baby was coming to the earth .  An angel visited Mary to tell her that she was going to play a special part in the God’s love story.  How can we tell God loves us?  God sent us Jesus!

stand_logo_4Today marked the end of Quarter 1, and the study of Abraham.  We celebrated with our auction to spend our Bible bucks. The girls came out the winner of the Be A Berean Contest so they were served ice cream sundaes by the boys.  We also made ornaments and decorated our tree.
