Here is what we learned today:

We are continuing to learn about how God created the world.  We learned about Day 4 when God created the sun, moon and stars.  Our memory verse is “God created the world and everything in it.”  Psalm 89:11

We are continuing to study the life of Abraham.  Abraham had 3 visitors, God and 2 others.  The visitors told Abraham that they were going to Sodom to witness the sin there firsthand, and then to destroy the city.  Abraham pleaded with God not to destroy it if 10 righteous people were found.  Through this Bible story, we learned that we should be concerned with others and not just ourselves.  REAL Christians care about others.

Here is what we learned October 11, 2009:

During the month of October, we will be learning about creation.  Today we learned that on the 2nd day, God created the sky and water.  Our memory verse this month is Psalm 89:11, “You made the world and everything in it.”

We are continuing our study on Abraham and Sarah.  We learned today that Abraham had 3 visitors (the LORD and 2 angels).  Abraham just knew that they were visitors.  He didn’t know that he was encountering God.  Abraham saw them coming and ran to greet them.  He immediately bowed before them, washed their feet and fed them dinner.  Abraham rushed to serve them.   By serving others, Abraham was serving God.  Our key point today was that I will not be slow to serve God!
