Sunday, September 13th, 2009   What We Learned

Here is what we learned September 13, 2009:

safari_logo_3Today, our Bible story was about Samuel.  He had a very important job from God.  He was chosen to find a king.  God led him to Jesse’s house.  Jesse brought 7 of his sons before him but God said no.  Finally, the little brother, David was brought before Samuel.  God said “YES!”.  Even though the other brothers were handsome and strong, God told Samuel “I look at the heart, not at the outside.”

stand_logo_4Abram and Sarai headed to Egypt because there was a famine in the land.  Abram fears that Pharoah will kill him and take his wife.  Instead of trusting God’s protection, he devises a plan to pretend Sarai is his sister.  We learned that total honesty and trust in God will keep us from greater trouble.  We learned that telling lies may seem taking the easy route at the beginning but it always turns messy.

Be A Berean!

Sunday, September 6th, 2009   What We Learned

Acts 17:11 tells us that the Bereans were known for their noble character because after listening to the Apostle Paul preach, they went and examined the Scriptures everyday to see if what he was preaching was true.

Every week, students of STAND! will have a chance to Be a Berean! by answering questions about the lesson.  The questions will also be posted here each week.  Each paper must have a student signature plus an adult signature.   Bring it back the following Sunday to receive points for your team.  At the end of the 13 weeks, the winning team will be treated with a special surprise!

Here are the questions for Week 1:
