Here is what we learned on December 28, 2008:

Safari Park Jungle

Key Question:

Why is Jesus special?

Jesus is God’s son.

Memory Verse:

God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son.  John 3:16 GNT

Bible Story Focus:

The Wise Men visit Jesus.  The Wise Men bring gifts.

STAND! in the Word (10:10 a.m.)

We began our Secret Agent curriculum today.  We learned what it takes for God to make us strong and brave.

BIG CITY STUDIOS (11:00 a.m.)

Two People Waited for Jesus.  We learned how God fulfilled the desire of Anna and Simeon to see Christ.  God wants people to be fulfilled in life.

Knot of the Week: God did NOT disappoint Simeon and Anna!

Reel Time:  Simeon and Anna were REAL excited about seeing Jesus.

Bible Story Focus:

Jesus’ Birthday!!!

STAND! in the Word (10:10 a.m.)

Wise Men still seek Him!!   Wise Men worship Jesus!

BIG CITY STUDIOS (11:00 a.m.)

We focused today on how people (Mary, angels, shepherds, others) responded to the birth of Jesus. 

We also had a Birthday Party for Jesus!

Knot of the Week:  The motel did NOT have room for Jesus.

Reel Time:  Everyone was REAL happy when Jesus was born.

Here is what we learned on December 14, 2008:

Safari Park Jungle

Key Question:

Bible Story Focus:

Not everyone knew Jesus is God’s Son.  Jesus is born in a stable.  Luke 2:1-7

STAND! in the Word (10:10 a.m.)

Wise Men still seek Him!!   The wise men brought gifts to Jesus.  What can we bring to Him this year?

BIG CITY STUDIOS (11:00 a.m.)

Gabe Brings the Good News.  Mary believed the amazing things that Gabriel told her, even though she didn’t understand them.  She was a normal girl that trusted God completely.

Knot of the Week:  It is NOT impossible if God said it!

Reel Time:  Gabriel’s news was a REAL surprise!

Family Christmas Celebration

Don’t forget our Family Christmas Celebration this Sunday, December 7 at 5:00 p.m.  We will have a time of Christmas carols, games, crafts and fellowship.  This is for everyone.

Please bring an unwrapped baby gift to bring to the manger.  All gifts will be given to the Pregnancy Center.

Here is what we learned on November 30, 2008:

Safari Park Jungle

Key Question:

Who made good things?

God made good things.

Memory Verse:

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.”  Gen 1:31

Bible Story Focus:

On the 7th day, God celebrated His creation and rested.

 

STAND!

STAND! in the Word (10:10 a.m.)

We had our Thanksgiving lesson today.  We learned that God always provides everything we need.  Our lesson came from Exodus.  We learned that the Israelites depended on God for their food, manna and quail.

Big City Studio (11:00 a.m.)

It’s hard to believe but we concluded Quarter #1 of Big City Studios.  We learned that after God created the world, He took a day of rest.  He didn’t rest because He was tired.  He rested because His work was complete. 

We also learned that God finishes what He starts.  His work was complete by his death on the cross.  When Jesus died, He said, “It is finished.”  We learned that there was a period after that sentence.  He didn’t say, “It is finished but…”  or “It is finished except for…”.

This week was also Big City Studio Store.

Knot of the Week:

God does NOT stop until He is finished.

Reel Time:

My God is REAL good at finishing what He starts.
