Welcome!!!

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Welcome to the launch of  www.ameliakidzone.com!!!  We have been anticipating this day for months and we are so excited that the day has arrived.

So, what does the launch of this website mean for you?  It means that you are going to have information at your fingertips about everything that goes on in KidZone!  Each week you will be able to come to the Parent Connection and learn about what your child(ren) has learned in the time they were in church.  The reason we are so excited is the fact that you will be able to reinforce the themes throughout the week in your home.

This will also be a place that you will be able to get information on special events, register for events online and most importantly, send other parents to check out the website which will in turn, hopefully, excite them about our programming and lead them to check it out for themselves.

Here is what we learned on September 7:

STAND!

STAND! In the Word (10:10):

We met in our small groups to discuss Week 2 of XL.  September 7 should start Day 14.

BIG CITY STUDIOS:

We kicked off our brand new worship series today!  We started from the beginning…the very beginning…Genesis 1:1.  We are learning that the creation reveal God’s attributes (Romans1:20).  One of his attributes is power.

Your child was sent home from Big City Studios with 2 things…a take home paper to be done throughout the week and a Big City Studios ticket.  Each child was given the challenge of sharing their ticket (invitation) with a friend.  Try to encourage your child to follow through and invite a friend to come with them.  All information about our worship is on the back of each ticket.

Also, your child may be coming home today and talking about Big City Studio Bucks.  Here is how that works:

Attendance – 1 buck

Bringing Bible – 1 buck

Bringing a first time visitor – 3 bucks

Learn memory verse – 1 buck

Completing and returning take home page – 1 buck

Answering review question completely – 1 buck

Why Big City Studio Bucks?

It educates about saving and spending.

It gives kids an opportunity to be generous to others who may not have as much money such as someone new.  Think of the impact it would make if a regular attender gave away a couple of bucks to a first time visitor.

It gives the kids motivation to do well and behave in children’s church in anticipation of earning and spending their bucks.

It reminds us that God is a rewarder.  See Hebrews 11:6.
